My name is Ione…

Some call me that, or Ownsey, or bitsy, or Elizabeth…

At the core of my essence, I am an artist. I express myself as an artist through many forms and media, embracing the approach of multidisciplinary craft, working across experimental film/videography, 3D (and 2D) animation, and sound design/music production to create immersive, overworld experiences. I am heavily influenced by media that shaped my childhood, the surreal, the unknown, and the uncanny—taking inspiration from science fiction literature, analog horror, and the eerie, disconnected feeling of many of 80’s cinema. I am always drawn to the feelings of suspense, confusion, and distortion of reality, and I use my tools to explore the tensions between reality and imagination (or what we cannot see).

I want my work to invite curiosity rather than provide a definite answer, creating an open dialogue—one that shifts based on one’s personal emotions, memories, and interpretations. Even my work that includes a strong narrative, I leave room for ambiguity, and to transform with each experience.

To make a long story short, my work is truly an exploration of perception—how we interpret, react to, and emotionally connect with the unknown. By playing with abstraction (analog textures, distorted soundscapes, glitchy imperfections, and narrative fragmentation), I hope to pull audiences into spaces where they can leave what they know behind, reflect, and uncover something new from the worlds I create.
